Achieving discipleship multiplication in REALITY is everyone’s dream, but few achieve it in reality.
There are many difficulties which must be overcome in the European church, and helping to pilot a movement past these obstacles towards a safe and assured outcome is by no means a trivial exercise. This endeavour is the heart of the European mission, and the challenge is gladly embraced by GRM Europoe.
MENTORSHIP
God is pouring out His Spirit. God’s Spirit is given for purpose, as it is incumbent on us, as stewards, to ensure that the new wine isn’t being wasted because the wineskin is incapable of rapid expansion.
If you’ve ever been close to a church that is in full blown revival, you would realize that the rapid expansion that takes place during a revival that is fulfilling purpose, puts a tremendous strain on the systems of church which are based on a few trained professionals, who do all the ministry.
Instead, the Biblical recommendation (command ??) is that the five fold ministry equipment the saints for the work of the ministry. This, we have come – finally – to understand as applicable to evangelism. This, however, is not the limitation imposed by Scripture, but rather by our understanding of what’s possible.
In order to be a new wineskin that is capable of rapid expansion in response to an outpouring of the Spirit, the saints need to also do the work of DISCIPLESHIP. GRM is training all believers (including new believers) to be involved in discipleship, and this is what creates the continuous stream of leaders needed for rapid expansion.
The church will soon outgrow its buildings. What then? Bigger buildings? Um… No. We need a wineskin that is held together by ACTIVE, essential mentoring relationships.
